The visit was informative. Brandon was thorough in his work. He asked pertinent questions and he even went out to my new gas meter install to check for any issues. He mentioned that I needed some maintenance on the upkeep.

Without a doubt, the best service call I made in all of 2025 was to the Hot Water Guys. My first interaction was with Veronica who was so helpful and responsive and quickly got us scheduled for an overall inspection of our tankless water heater. We will be forever grateful to Sam S. who ultimately had to address a very long list of things that needed repair or replacement. We watched in amazement as he expertly tackled a unit that had been sorely neglected. He was patient, determined, and extremely skilled. We also very much appreciated his ability (and willingness) to work directly with the manufacturer on our behalf to get warranty coverage on several pieces of equipment. Sam also shared really important information with us to help us better understand and take care of the unit now that we are the new homeowners. Finally, our review would not be complete without acknowledging the incredibly informative invoices from Sam. Each one identified exactly what the service call entailed, what his diagnosis was (exceptionally detailed yet also easy to understand), the materials/parts used, their quantity, and unit price. Technician did a great job in less than an hour but wasn’t very friendly. He didn’t explain anything that was done. Or the problem. All I knew was that there was a part that was replaced since I saw him walk in with it.

I was expecting a $199 cleaning and didn't expect the $330 bill to tell me I need a new tankless hot water heater. Would have been good to know if the bill was going past what I was expecting or if the charge could be used as a credit against a replacement. Used them for a few years and they're really good at what they do. The bill was a surprise.

Brandon said it would be difficult to find parts and it may still not work. I asked for his professional opinion to repair or replace; he recommended replacing the 20 yr old gal. I decided to go with lower cost of a tank since I will be selling the house soon. If I were going to stay, I'd get another tankless. Thanks Hot Water Guys; I'll miss you.

After thorough inspection, the technician was unable to pinpoint the exact location of the hot water heater leak. Did everything possible.

I had a defective Honeywell Gas Valve replaced by the Hot Water Guys under warranty from State Water Heaters on Oct 1. After the installation repair, my wife occasionally noticed the smell of the sulfur from the natural gas when she goes in the garage. On Oct 19 morning I was overwhelmed with the smell as I left for work. I did the soapy water test on all the connections around the water heater. The brass fitting that connects the pilot tubing to the Honeywell controller was loose. It took a 1/4 turn to tighten it. I contacted the Hot Water Guys asking for a partial refund. They have refunded the total cost of the service call and have made an adjustment to their employee roster.

I was told that a tankless would require less space in my tight attic than my 2 water heaters, so after saving for a year and upgrading to give me more attic space, I find the installer put the the tankless and drain lines in the perfect spots to make all the extra space unusable. I was also told that the Rinnai would monitor itself for leaks and notify me - there is no pan leak detector provided connected to the system. I will have to use my old school liquid alarms for the pan. I was also told by Rinnai on 10/9/18 that the app has been updated and the only reason for the bad rating is that they are based on an old firmware / module /app developer issue... not the case. I can connect to the system but chaning the temp on my app doesn't change the temp on the water heater. There is also no way to change the recirc. pump on the heater itself- you must use the faulty app. In the 2 hours since it was installed, I have already started regretting my decision to install a tech-friendly space-saving, less risk of leaks, water heater - The Rinnai installed by Hot Water Guys is anything but.

Disappointed. Was charged for a flow censor that was not discussed. Tech came out to replace a leaking part. Did that and then took it upon himself to replace a flow censor and charge me for it. Didn’t mention it until I asked him for a breakdown of what he worked on. I trusted the guy and he took advantage. Bummed. Will keep everyone posted if they address my feedback.

Rheem is also sending extra parts - just in case. Even though I have the needed part in hand, the business will not schedule the repair until the unneeded parts are here, too. So, I am waiting an extra four days (so far) without hot water for duplicate parts and parts that might not be needed. Day 12 with no hot water is not fun.<br><br>Initial review: Wayne from the Hot Water Guys is very knowledgeable and knows his stuff when it comes to pricing and tankless water heater specifications. The quote had line items so everything is upfront. Still the most fairly priced. Original Review: When my usual plumber didn’t have time for a service call, I reached out to the water heater manufacturer’s website and chose the top 3 per Google reviews. Hot Water Guys were the most fairly priced. Brandon showed up on time and was very knowledgeable, and respectful. The manufacturer’s replacement part was not the fix, which is a bummer. But the manufacturer is sending the next part in line for troubleshooting. Brandon was quickly on the phone getting the part ordered. He gave me options for repair or replacement without pushing in either direction. I find the prices fair, unlike the other companies' quotes which were basically a kidney and my firstborn. I might finally be able to afford a tankless. But if it’s not, I am confident I have found a reputable plumbing company to fix my current water heater and pipe leak issues. I recommend Hot Water Guys!

Back on a Monday, in December 2021, I had this company come out and give me a quote to replace the Navien tankless water heater that was rendered useless from the historic freeze, earlier that year. My previous heater was the top of the line, with the most efficient technology, that a tankless can offer (condensing). Yet, because I reside in a lower-income neighborhood, he quoted me for an inferior, only 80% heat-transfer efficient, (non-condensing) Rinnai model. I discovered that, when I asked him if the quote was for was a condensing water heater, he said "No." When I looked at him like: "Why the hell not, can't you see I previously had a pricey condensing water heater? (It's hanging right there)." He went on to say, something to the effect of "Well, given the area and the house, this is our [budget] option." That was the SECOND time he had said something to that effect. I smiled and bid him good-day, knowing I would never...ever use their services.<br><br>Yes, this is a "late" review, but I was cleaning files, and remembered I wanted to lambaste this company for this offensive, elitist/micro-aggressive, experience. The technician who did the talking has the initials of W.P... Now, I can discard this useless quote.

Back on a Monday, in December 2021, I had this company come out and give me a quote to replace the Navien tankless water heater that was rendered useless from the historic freeze, earlier that year. My previous heater was the top of the line, with the most efficient technology, that a tankless can offer (condensing). Yet, because I reside in a lower-income neighborhood, he quoted me for an inferior, only 80% heat-transfer efficient, (non-condensing) Rinnai model. I discovered that, when I asked him if the quote was for was a condensing water heater, he said "No." When I looked at him like: "Why the hell not, can't you see I previously had a pricey condensing water heater? (It's hanging right there)." He went on to say, something to the effect of "Well, given the area and the house, this is our [budget] option." That was the SECOND time he had said something to that effect. I smiled and bid him good-day, knowing I would never...ever use their services.<br><br>Yes, this is a "late" review, but I was cleaning files, and remembered I wanted to lambaste this company for this offensive, elitist/micro-aggressive, experience. The technician who did the talking has the initials of W.P... Now, I can discard this useless quote.

Spoke to manager, Carrie, on the phone on Tuesday. She was fine, not particularly nice or sweet but matter of fact, and I’m good with that. I sent her photos of my heater and asked if she could send out a technician. She responded that She would send out a pricing specialist (what, why?)to replace a filter but that the pricing specialist was not a technician and ergo could not perform any maintenance on the unit. So I called to ask why I would need a specialist who does t perform maintenance and instead, I was cut off by a “service rep” She was quite rude on the phone and would not let me ask any questions or explain the situation. I just wanted to make sure we were on the same page and was cut off and told that I needed to listen to her and be told what I needed to do.<br>I will not be using your services based on that phone call. I worked in the service industry for twenty years, and it is so important to put your ego aside, bite your tongue, and just let the other person speak. I know it’s a tough job, but it is imperative to be nice. I mean, you’re essentially the first impression of a company, and this was a horrible one!<br><br>You may not care about losing a potential client, but you should. We really wanted to use a company that is in our neighborhood to support the local business community. This is regrettable.

They cleaned it and said everything is fine. Now they are gonna charge me again for coming out because my Rinnai is acting up again like before. Two months , really ?? I hired Hot Water Guys to perform a maintenance on our tankless water heater. I paid $185 to have the system flushed. I called back a month later because I noticed the pressure to be somewhat low and it taking 45-60 or so seconds for hot water to come out. I was told that shouldn't be happening so they scheduled the same tech to come back out, to make sure all was working as it should. The tech removed the flow restrictors from 3 shower heads to assist with pressure, which did help some. However, his explanation of why it was taking the water a while to come out hot didn't make any sense to me but told me everything was working fine. I was charged $110 for this. My husband could have removed these at no charge had I been told when calling back that might have something to do with low pressure.<br><br>After taking their customer satisfaction survey, I got a call from a young lady who explained that the water pressure and water heater have nothing to do with each other, and that 45-60 second delay in hot water was quite normal for the type of system we have, even though I was told when making the initial call, as well as when calling back after the initial service, that it shouldn't take that long for the water to come out hot. We have dual faucets in the primary bathroom, and one of them gets hot almost immediately, where as the other takes almost a full minute but that is supposed to be normal?? I'm not the professional and why I hired them to identify any potential problems and give recommendations & pricing to correct it. Going forward I'll be sure to do my own homework and try and have a better understanding of how the system or appliance is supposed to work instead of relying on someone scheduling a service appointment.<br><br>My rating is strictly based on the over all value of what I was charged. Service man was pleasant and knowledgeable. But the first repair didn't correct the problem. He came back and replaced the pilot assembly and hopefully we won't have any more cold showers. I didn't like that I had to pay $35 travel when I am in the greater houston area. But I was ok with it. But the second $35 charge was a but much since it wasn't repaired the first time.

They refused to have him contact me directly, even though they did not perform the requested services due to other issues. I dont mind the change in order but basic communication was lacking. I would not use them again for any future plumbing needs.

He returned in a couple of days with the part and charged by wife $100 for the return visit plus $166 for the part. In the 7 or 8 houses my wife and I have owned over 40 years we have dealt with dozens of repair people who have learned that they needed a part to complete a job. NEVER have we been charged for both the return trip. AVOID THESE PEOPLE. THERE ARE AT LEAST 2 OTHERS TANK-LESS WATER HEATER PEOPLE IN THE HOUSTON AREA. They responded with a pack of lies. AVOID THEM AT ALL COSTS. Cheats and liars to boot.

Too many companies offer free diagnosis. I called a second company who came out, diagnosed it was just the board and their total Labor fee to diagnose the problem and replace the board was about the same as they charged just to diagnose the problem. They would not guarantee that board replacement would solve the problem and were essentially trying to sell me a new system. I would never consider using these guys again. There are good companies hungry for work and these guys think they are entitled to charge outrageous fees. There are much better options out there.

They have no expertise in this line of business at all. If you couldn't identify correct parts, DO NOT BLAME on city plumbing line.<br><br>---Comments on owner: Your wrong diagnose of " City Plumbing line problem" cost our hotel 3 weeks of on and off HOT WATER with complaints from our guests with refunds of their stay. We have to get other master plumber with correct diagnose and switched a correct parts and magically, it has been fixed with no issue ever since. I guess your company need to look into maybe stick with residential Boiler system???

After close to $700 and two trips by the same tech in 6 weeks now it has been diagnosed that our tankless water heater is defective. The owner wants another $1000. To fix it correctly. Thankfully one of the young ladies is offering all the help she can but to my knowledge the owner does not stand behind his company or his incompetent technician.
